Here’s what you can expect when you arrive in winter...
Gruenau im Almtal is quite a busy little town
in winter thanks to the Kasberg. It draws
many Austrian families and Dutch because
of the low prices and the many beginner
and intermediate runs. During school
holidays the mountain is quite full. Less
crowded and cheaper, would be before and
after Christmas/New Year, the month of
January and March to the end of the
season, which is Easter.
On cold winter days, you have many
choices at the TreeHouse. You could go
skiing, snowboarding, or snow shoeing.
The lift is just a 5 minute walk from the
house. For those who are less sporty, you
could go for a walk, build a snowman or
throw snowballs at each other. Even better,
stay inside by the fire and drink hot spiced
red wine known as “Glühwein”.
Our ski area, the Kasberg, which translates
to “Cheese Mountain” is a great place for
all levels of skiers and snowboarders. It’s
also very affordable. For those who are
looking to try something new, the ski school
has English speaking instructors. A new
hourly ski pass has been introduced as well
to make your ski holiday more flexible. So
what’s stopping you?
